San Antonio Rampage News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY (February 9, 2011)- The San Antonio Rampage had their seven-game point streak snapped as they were shutout 2-0 by the Oklahoma City Barons on Wednesday morning at the Cox Convention Center. The Rampage remain tied for the lead in the Western Conference standings with a 31-19-2-0 record good for 64 points.

The Barons jumped onto the scoreboard just over half way through the first period when leading scorer Alexandre Giroux fired a one-timer from the high slot that passed Rampage goaltender Matt Climie glove side and into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

Oklahoma City extended their lead to 2-0 after Climie deflected Greg Stewart's shot into the slot where center Chris Vandevedle picked up the puck and snapped a shot over Climie's left shoulder at the 13:25 mark of the second period.

Rampage head coach Ray Edwards pulled Climie in favor of a sixth attacker with 1:38 remaining in the contest, however, neither team was able to light the lamp in the third period sealing the Barons victory at 2-0.

Climie made 27 saves on 29 Barons shot attempts while Oklahoma City netminder Martin Gerber stopped all 33 Rampage shots for his fourth shutout of the season.

The Rampage travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba for a back-to-back series against the Manitoba Moose at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night at the MTS Centre.
