Tickets Go on Sale Today for Charron Tribute Night

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans fans can share in the life of Craig Charron at "Sharky's Celebration" on Wednesday, February 23rd at the Rochester Americans' American Hockey League game against the Manitoba Moose. That night, the Amerks and their fans will pay tribute to Charron, who lost his battle with cancer last October.

Tickets for the 7:05 p.m. game will go on sale TODAY at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are $10 in the best available seating area and are available at all customer service centers at Eastview Mall, the Mall at Greece Ridge and The Marketplace Mall. All purchases made at the three Wilmorite Malls must be cash transactions. Fans can also purchase tickets to the game at The Sports Centre at MCC and at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Charron family from the Knighthawks/Amerks Charitable Foundation, Inc.

Other fundraisers include a jersey and memorabilia raffle courtesy of the Rochester Americans Alumni Association to support Craig Charron's family. Fans will have the chance to win a jersey from NHL Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux and a game-worn Dane Jackson Buffalo Sabres jersey. Other featured jerseys that night include AHL All-Star jerseys of Jason Pominville and Clarke MacArthur. There will be a limited number of raffle tickets sold for each jersey.

Craig was a player, coach and family man who lost his battle with cancer on October 19, 2010. His wife, Wendy, resides in Spencerport, NY, with their four children: Jackson, Nicholas, Hunter Anne and Emma. Charron scored 122 goals and added 190 assists in 335 games with the Amerks, leading Rochester to the Calder Cup in 1996 and was inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame in 2008.
