Gateway Grizzlies News Release

Meet Wish Child Jordan. He's 12-years-old, funny, clever and easy with his smile.especially when he gets to hang out with some of his favorite sports figures like the Gateway Grizzlies team. Jordan was full of smiles during the 2nd Annual Make-A-WishR Foundation Night presented by Charlie's CARSTAR and the Metro St. Louis CARSTAR Auto Body Group on this past Friday, August 20th.

The Make-A-WishR Foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish provides a positive focus for children who must bear the burden of illness just as they begin to dream. Since 1985 the Foundation has granted more than 9,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wishR with special children across Illinois.

Another special visitor, the CARSTAR Super'Stang, a tribute car to honor the legendary 1967 Shelby GT 500 "Super Snake" Mustang, also came for the event. The unique vehicle was recreated by CARSTAR in 2007 and has made hundreds of stops on a national tour over the last three years. For 2010, CARSTAR and Hertz partnered to give the original Super'Stang a new SisterStang, a beautiful 2007 High Performance Hertz Shelby Mustang that will be given away** in February 2011!

"We were so thrilled to spend the evening with Jordan and his family while enjoying a great baseball game and raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation," said Charlie Eilers, Owner of Charlie's CARSTAR. "It really comes down to the fact that we want to help kids that face life-threatening conditions get their wish."

Although tallies are not final, close to $300 will be raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
