Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA - The Augusta State Jaguars golf team - winners of the NCAA Division I National Championship this past June - will be recognized prior to first pitch of Friday's Augusta GreenJackets game as they host the West Virginia Power at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

Head coach Josh Gregory and his Jaguars squad will be on hand to show off their national championship rings and be honored in a special pregame ceremony on the first night of the GreenJackets' Fan Appreciation Weekend. Gregory will throw out a ceremonial first pitch as part of the festivities.

The Jaguars captured the school's first NCAA national title in any sport with a win in the championship match against top-seeded Oklahoma State. Prior to their win against the Cowboys, the Jaguars bested ACC foes Georgia Tech and Florida State.

Friday's game against the Power will start at 7:05 p.m. and is part of the GreenJackets final eight-game homestand that continues tonight and runs through Saturday. Tickets for all home games can also currently be obtained by calling 706-922-WINS or online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
