Jaxx Game Postponed on Thursday

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. (August 12, 2010) - The Diamond Jaxx opener of a five-game series in Huntsville, AL, against the Huntsville Stars has been postponed due to rain and stadium damage. There will be a double-header on Friday at Joe Davis Stadium, with first pitch of game one set for 5:00 PM.
Around 5:30 PM, Huntsville was hit with heavy rains and thunder showers. Due to the massive amount of rain, each team's dugouts was flooded. Attached is a picture of the Diamond Jaxx dugout, moments after the rain ended.
The Diamond Jaxx are 22-24 in the second half and 61-54 overall with 24 games remaining in the season. The Jaxx are in front of the Huntsville Stars in the wildcard standings by 4.5 games. The pitching matchup in game one Friday will feature for the Jaxx, LHP Anthony Vasquez (0-2, 2.92) and RHP Michael Bowman (8-9, 5.84) for the Stars. In game two, the Jaxx will send out RHP Steve Bray (7-7, 4.40) and LHP Chris Cody (6-7, 4.45) for Huntsville.
The Diamond Jaxx will return to Pringles Park on Wednesday, August 18th to open a five-game series in four days against the Jacksonville Suns. Fans can purchase tickets online at diamonjaxx.com or by calling the Pringles Park box office Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm at 731-988-JAXX.
