Former Huntsville Star Mike McClendon Promoted to Milwaukee

NASHVILLE, TN. - And then there were three.Former Huntsville Stars pitcher Mike McClendon was promoted from Triple-A Nashville to Milwaukee last night. He will join former teammates Jonathan Lucroy and Lorenzo Cain, both promoted this year to the big league club.

McClendon joined the Stars on April 16 after starting the season with the Sounds. In seven appearances with Huntsville, he went 1-1 with a 0.61 ERA. He allowed just one run over 14 2/3 innings. Additionally, he walked one batter while striking out 15. He kept opponents to a .143 average. In 25 appearances in Triple-A, McClendon was 4-3 with two saves and a 2.44 ERA. He allowed 14 walks over 55 1/3 innings while striking out 44.

The Brewers take on the Arizona Diamondbacks today at 1:10 p.m. The Huntsville Stars start a five-game series against the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx at 7 p.m. tonight with the final Bud Light Thirst-Aid Thursday of the regular season. Gates open at 6 p.m.
