RHP Chen-Chang Placed on DL

August 5, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros had one more roster move today as RHP Chen-Chang Lee was placed on the disabled list retroactive to August 3rd with an oblique strain.

Lee last pitched Sunday afternoon at Canal Park for Akron against the Reading Phillies and the Taiwan native has been one of the most consistent relievers for the team this season. He is currently 5-3 with a 3.83 ERA in a team-leading 35 appearances and ranks fourth among Eastern League relievers with 9.91 strikeouts per nine innings pitched. The 23-year-old has also been on a hot streak for the past six weeks, not allowing an earned run in 11 consecutive games since a relief appearance on June 25th against Binghamton. In this impressive stretch, Lee has 22 strikeouts against just five walks and six hits in 16.1 innings pitched, simply allowing a pair of unearned runs total. He has spent the entirety of 2010 in Double-A after a 4-6 record and a 3.35 ERA in 45 games with Class A Kinston last season and joined the Indians organization as a non-drafted free agent in September 2008.

The Aeros roster currently stands at 23 men + 1 player on the disabled list. Akron concludes their four-game series at Altoona tonight with a first pitch time of 7:00 p.m. at Blair County Ballpark.
