Brandon Duckworth was stingy on Tuesday night. The Lehigh Valley starter and winner handcuffed the PawSox offense, allowing no runs on 3 hits, with 10 strikeouts over 7 innings. The Iron Pigs hung on for a 6-3 victory. The Pigs have taken three in a row from the PawSox. Over that stretch, the Sox have managed just 9 runs.
The PawSox have the leagues' worst road record (13-30) with one game left on the trip. Pawtucket has lost 7 of its' last 8 road games. Argenis Reyes grabbed two singles for the Sox and Lars Anderson delivered a two run single in the ninth. Overall, Lehigh pitchers struck out 12 PawSox batters.
The series wraps up on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Randor Bierd (2-4, 5.59) faces Brian Mazone (5-8, 3.73).
