Pawtucket Red Sox News Release

The Syracuse Chiefs thumped the PawSox on Monday night 9-4. The game was delayed due to rain, 1 hour and 2 minutes to start the night. Pawtucket played a lackluster game, complete with shaky defense and a lack of offense. The only real offense came from Aaron Bates. He had a three run homer that temporarily gave the Sox a one run lead. Bates also had a single. Lars Anderson went 2 for 3 with a single, double and a walk.

Robert Coello took the loss, unable to repeat his dominant effort from Scranton, earlier on the road trip. Coello lasted just 3.2 innings, giving up 6 runs, 3 earned. The PawSox finish the road trip with a 3-5 record as they head home for 5 games.

The homestand begins on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Yankees. Tim Redding (2-3, 3.89) will face Adam Mills (1-6, 4.25).
