Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
The Pawtucket offense erupted for 8 runs on 11 hits on Sunday night, making a winner of Michael Bowden, defeating first place Syracuse 8-1. Ryan Shealy and Josh Reddick did most of the damage. Shealy had a 2 run double in the first and a 2 run homer in the third. Reddick smashed a 3 run homer later in the third inning. Catcher Juan Apodaca doubled in a run in his first PawSox at bat.
Michael Bowden (3-3) was terrific hurling 6 innings. He allowed a single run on 4 hits. The run came in when Bowden was charged with a balk in the second. Lefty Tommy Hottovy worked 2 shutout innings of relief with a pair of strikeouts. Fernando Cabrera pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning. The PawSox snapped a three game losing streak. Every member of the Pawtucket lineup either scored a run or had a hit.
The series wraps up on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. Ramon Ramirez (1-2, 5.48) faces Shairon Martis (4-5, 4.00).
