It was a familiar scenario in Syracuse on Saturday night. The PawSox managed just one run for the third straight night, and as a result lost for the third straight night, falling to the Chiefs, 6-1. The only tally came in the third as Jorge Jimenez knocked in Gustavo Molina. Molina had 2 hits, including a double. Aaron Bates had three hits in a game for the first time this season.
Jeff Mandel was the winner working 6.1 innings, allowing 6 hits. Kris Johnson suffered the loss, falling to 3-6. KJ gave up 11 hits in his five innings of work. Johnson surrendered 5 runs. Robert Manuel gave up a homer in the eighth to Leonard Davis. It was the first homer allowed by Manuel in 2010.
The series continues on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Michael Bowden (2-3, 4.23) faces Jason Jones (0-1, 1.23).
