
Shawn Bowman and David Cooper Hit Homers to Back Zach Stewart In Win

Erie, PA- Shawn Bowman ripped his ninth home run leading off the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie and Zach Stewart allowed one run in seven innings for his fourth win as the Fisher Cats completed a three-game sweep of Erie, winning 6-1, Sunday afternoon.
Bowman (2-for-3, HR, 2B, 2 R) hit his home run off losing pitcher Andy Oliver (5-4). Oliver got the next two outs before allowing a double to David Cooper (3-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI) off the left field wall before leaving the game. The next three Fisher Cats produced RBI hits off reliever Jay Voss. Jonathan Jaspe singled, Callix Crabbe (2-for-3) doubled and Darin Mastroianni (2-for-4) singled for a 5-1 lead.
Zach Stewart (4-1) worked a season-high seven innings for the win. He allowed three hits, walked two and struck out five. Boomer Potts worked a scoreless eighth inning and Tim Collins worked a scoreless ninth inning.
New Hampshire (39-25) opened the scoring in the top of the second inning. Shawn Bowman led off with a double to right field and scored on a single by David Cooper (3-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI) to make it 1-0.
Erie (26-36) tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Deik Scram walked and moved to third on a single by Josh Burrus. Scram scored on a sacrifice fly by Andy Bouchie to make it 1-1.
Cooper hit his eighth home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fisher Cats up 6-1.
The Fisher Cats return to Merchantsauto.com Stadium to open a three-game series against the Akron Aeros, Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, on Tuesday, June 15, at 7:05pm.
