Arkansas Travelers News Release

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark-The Arkansas Travelers picked up a new pitcher, adding right-hander Daniel Cabrera to the bullpen. The Los Angeles Angels signed the 29-year-old free agent this afternoon, and added him to their double-A roster. To make room for Cabrera, the Angels gave left-handed pitcher Jayson Miller his release.

Cabrera is a veteran of 162 Major League appearances, 155 in a starting role, mostly with the Baltimore Orioles. Cabrera was signed as a free agent in 1999 by the Baltimore and pitched five seasons for the Orioles before pitching with Washington and Arizona in 2009. He comes to the Travs after being listed in the Chicago White Sox's organization in 2010, but was released before the start of the season.

During his major league career Cabrera owns a 48-59 record with a 5.10 era. In 892 innings pitched he's walked 520 batters and struck out 674.

The Angels release Miller after playing two full seasons in their organization. Miller was drafted in the 30th round, in 2008 by the Angels. Miller played for the Orem Owlz in 2008, Cedar Rapids Kernels and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2009, before making his way to the Travelers for 2010. Miller leaves with a 0-4 record with a 6.42 era at Arkansas.
