Beattie Homes Hockey Mums Fight Breast Cancer Campaign Raises Over $22,000

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club is proud to announce the Beattie Homes Hockey Mums Fight Breast Cancer Campaign raised $22,151.20 with all funds to be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Money was collected from an online Hitmen game worn jersey auction, skate-a-thon, Great Clips head shave, sale of pink teddy bears along with Booster Club and Fan Attic merchandise sales.

"This is the first year of this major campaign and with tremendous results," says Hitmen Director of Business Operations Mike Moore. "Our goal was to make a significant contribution to support breast cancer research and thanks to the huge support of our fans, Beattie Homes and Great Clips we are one step closer to finding a cure for this disease."

The Hitmen Booster Club not only raised $1,297 through merchandise sales, but was also instrumental in raising awareness through their game night concourse display. A portion of the pink and black Hitmen jersey sales sold through the FanAttic was also donated to this great cause.

In addition, Hitmen fan David Deakin raised $350 and took to the ice Sunday afternoon joining 10 Hitmen players Kyle Aschim, Del Cowan, Tyler Fiddler, Justin Kirsch, Peter Kosterman Matt MacKenzie, Jaynen Rissling, MacKenzie Royer, Ian Schultz and Ben Wilson who all had their head shaved.
