ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 40-24-3-2 record (19-12-2-1 at home, 21-12-1-1 on the road, 4-3 in overtime, 5-2 in shootouts) and in fifth place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and tied for ninth place overall in the WHLThe ICE won their 40th game of the regular season March 3 in EDMONTONIt is the seventh time in franchise history and fifth in the last six years that KOOTENAY has recorded at least 40 wins in a seasonThe ICE will finish the 2009-2010 regular season with an above.500 record for the 11th consecutive season, which is the longest active streak in the WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUEKOOTENAY has clinched a playoff spot for the 12th consecutive yearThe ICE will play two of their remaining three regular season games at home.
KELLOGG'S NIGHT: When the ICE host the RED DEER REBELS on March 10th it will be KELLOGG'S NightFans in attendance will have the opportunity to win product from KELLOGG'S and meet one of the mascots.
ST. EUGENE GOLF RESORT CASINO / AWARDS NIGHT: When KOOTENAY host the EDMONTON OIL KINGS on March 13th it will be ST. EUGENE GOLF RESORT CASINO and AWARDS NIGHTFans in attendance will have the opportunity to learn more about the ST. EUGENE GOLF RESORT CASINOThe awards will start at 7:00 pm.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE played in their 1000th game on February 23 against RED DEERKOOTENAY will finish the regular season with a.500 or better road record for the ninth time in the last 11 seasonsThe ICE are 19-10-1-1 against the CENTRAL DIVISION this season and 31-19-3-2 against the EASTERN CONFERENCEDUSTIN SYLVESTER, who leads the team in scoring at home with 49 points (18-31-49 in 34 games) also leads the club in scoring on the road with 41 points (17-24-41 in 31 games)SYLVESTER, who is fifth in League scoring (35-55-90), played in his 300th WHL career game on February 26 against MEDICINE HATSYLVESTER scored his franchise record 15th career shorthanded goal on March 3 in EDMONTON (previous record was 11 held by DUNCAN MILROY)BRAYDEN MCNABB (17-39-56) is sixth in the WHL for points by a defensemanMATT FRASER, who recorded his 50th career WHL goal on March 3 against the OIL KINGS, needs four more points to reach 100 in his WHL career.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 69 games of the 2008-2009 season the ICE were 34-27-2-6, after 70 games 34-28-2-6, after 71 games 34-29-2-6 and after 72 games 35-29-2-6.
