River Rats Offer Safe Revelry

November 25, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) Albany River Rats

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats today announced that beginning with tonight's game against Syracuse at 7:00 p.m., fans that are planning to serve as designated drivers for their group will receive a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage upon check in courtesy of Aramark, MillerCoors and the River Rats.

"The beginning of the Holiday Season is a great time to introduce our program," said Rats Vice President of Communications & Marketing, Jonathan Scherzer. "We would like to thank MillerCoors and Aramark for joining us in helping to raise awareness about alcohol responsibility among Capital Region hockey fans. Rat backers can feel even safer getting back on the road after our games during the Holiday Season with the addition of our Designated Driver program."

The Designated Driver Program is designed to ensure guests a safe trip home from River Rats games. Fans that pledge not to drink alcoholic beverages during the game may sign up at the Time Warner Cable Fan Relations Center by Section 128 on the Times Union Center concourse to receive a FREE non-alcoholic beverage during the game and they will be eligible for promotional giveaway items.
