Lehner Selected by Hounds with 9th Pick of Import Draft

With the 9th overall pick in today's CHL Import Draft, the Soo Greyhounds selected goaltender Robin Lehner from Vastra Frolunda of the Swedish Super Elite League.Lehner, who was the top rated European goaltender in last weekend's NHL Priority Draft was selected in the 2nd round (46th overall) by the Ottawa Senators.The native of Molndal, Sweden stands 6'4" while weighing in at 220 lbs.  This past season, Lehner appeared in 22 games compiling a 3.05 GAA and .916 SV% while in April he represented Team Sweden at the 2009 U-18 tournament in Fargo North Dakota.  There Lehner played in four of Team Sweden's six games recording a 2.80 GAA and .918 SV%.The 17-year old is compared to New York Rangers star, and family friend, Henrik Lundqvist.The Soo Greyhounds will now pass on their next pick in the 2nd round, 63rd overall.
