Hammons Field, Springfield, Missouri - Third baseman Corey Smith is returning to the Travelers to finish their road trip Monday night in Springfield. While the Travs regain one of their top power hitters, they lost centerfielder Adam Greenberg to the disabled list with a strained right hamstring. Smith led the Travs with 23 homers and 76 RBI when he left for Salt Lake last week. With Kendry Morales being optioned to Salt Lake from Los Angeles and Matt Brown returning from the Olympics, Smith now rejoins the Travs for their Texas League playoff run.Smith played in seven games for Salt Lake and was 4-for-23 with one homer and two RBI. In 120 games for the Travelers, Smith is batting .275/.326/.495 and ranks second in the Texas League with 23 homers and fourth with 55 extra-base hits. The free agent signee from Piscataway, NJ, will be available for Monday's game at Springfield.
Greenberg had not played since leaving Wednesday night's game at Tulsa after running out a ground ball. Jordan Czarniecki will get the bulk of playing time in centerfield in the future.
