Lincoln blows out Explorers 11-1

LINCOLN, NE -- Lincoln hits 4 home runs, led by a 3 run shot by Mario Delgado and a 3 run HR from Skip Adams to beat the X's 11-1 on Wednesday night at Haymarket Park.

Lincoln scored 5 runs off of X's starter Paige Dumont in the 2nd inning, highlighted by a opposite field shot by Delgado. Matt Maloney and Curt Miaso also went deep for the Dogs; Maloney finished a triple short of the cycle. Dumont allowed 6 runs, 5 earned in 4 innings, taking his 2nd loss of the year. Ryan Trytten went 5 innings and left with a pulled groin, but got his 4th win of the year.

The X's lone run came on a RBI single by Nick McCoola in the 5th. Alex Llanos went 2-3 with a double. Chad Gabriel went 2-3 with a double. Derek Schermerhorn went 2-3. Alexander Francisco made his return for the Explorers, seeing his first action since June 18, going 3 innings, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits and striking out 3.

Sioux City will try to avoid a sweep on Thursday night and will send Cameron Cheek to the mound while Lincoln will call on Jason Jarvis. Game time is 7:05 with coverage on 1360 KSCJ and xsbaseball.com.
