Everett AquaSox News Release
Tuesday, August 14th the Everett AquaSox would like to offer fans the chance to catch a ballgame as well spend the evening with cast members of the Emmy Nominated Discovery Channel Reality Show The Deadliest Catch. Deadliest Catch chronicles the Bering Sea voyages of the brave captains and crew of eight crab-fishing vessels as they struggle against the treacherous weather conditions doing one of the deadliest - and most lucrative - jobs in the world.
Fans are invited to come out early to the ballpark and meet Captain Phil Harris of the FV Cornelia Marie, his two sons Jake and Josh Harris, as well as the captain of the Farwest Leader, Greg Moncrief and his wife Ragnhild who spent season 3 of the show as the boats cook and part time deckhand. Ragnhild is also involved with the Seattle Fishermen's Memorial, a charitable organization devoted to promoting safety in the fishing fleets and easing the emotional and financial burden of surviving family members of fishermen lost at sea.
For every full price ticket purchased online, at the stadium store or at the stadiums ticket booths on Tuesday the 14th the AquaSox will donate $2.00 to the Seattle Fishermen's Memorial. The AquaSox will also hold a special Tuesday night edition of Launch A Ball to raise money for the Memorial. 100% of all of Tuesday nights post-game Launch A Ball will go to the charity. Numbered Tennis Balls can be purchased for $1.00 at the Comcast Fan Information Center throughout the game. Immediately following the game ten hula hoops are placed on the infield grass, each of them representing a prize. Fans toss the Launch A Balls in an attempt to win various prizes, with the grand prize being a trip for 2 to Mariners spring training in Peoria, Arizona.
Captain Phil Harris as well as his two son's Jake and Josh live in the Snohomish County area. Greg and Ragnhild make their home in the Harbour Pointe area.
