
Old friend hurts the 'Dogs...Portland loses 4-1!

Aaron Laffey worked seven scoreless innings and former Sea Dog Jared Sandberg blasted a three-run homer, leading the Akron Aeros to a 5-1 victory over the Sea Dogs on Saturday night at Hadlock Field.
Tommy Hottovy (0-3) suffered the loss for Portland in his first home start, allowing three runs in six and 2/3 innings. The lefthander retired 12 batters before leaving the game in the seventh inning after a triple and a walk.
Bumatay entered the game and allowed a three-run homer to Sandberg over the Maine Monster. Ivan Ochoa followed with a double and scored on a single by Wyatt Toregas.
Portland's lone run came in the eighth inning when Jacoby Ellsbury tripled and scored on a ground out by Matt Van Der Bosch.
Trevor Crowe had two hits, including a home run to start the game off Hottovy.
Ellsbury and Brandon Moss each had two hits; Dusty Brown and Brian Myrow added singles.
