The Latest Todd Donovan hit a go-ahead, three-run triple in the bottom of the eighth inning, capping a comeback from a four-run deficit for the Bowie Baysox, who edged the Binghamton Mets 5-4 in the series opener at Prince George's Stadium yesterday...Jorge Padilla went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and a pair of runs scored on his 27th birthday...Chase Lambin homered to open a three-run sixth, which also included an Ambiorix Concepcion RBI single...starter Michael Devaney was charged with an earned run over 5+ innings and left with a chance to win...the B-Mets have dropped five of their last six.

About Binghamton After hitting .291 and posting a 2.83 ERA during a 22-5 July, the B-Mets have hit .235 while compiling a 3.89 ERA during a 4-6 August...both Trenton and Portland won yesterday, putting Binghamton three games behind the firstplace Thunder and ½ game ahead of the third-place Sea Dogs for the EL North's final playoff spot. The B-Mets were in last place as recently as 6/23...after converting his first 18 save chances successfully, closer Henry Owens blew a save for the second time in his last three opportunities yesterday. After not being scored upon in 24 of his first 26 appearances and being charged with three earned runs (0.95 ERA), Owens has been scored upon in four of his last eight appearances, giving up four earned runs (4.15 ERA).

About Bowie The Baysox are coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of Reading, losing five straight prior to yesterday's win. Bowie's dropped eight of their last 12...Bowie has three first-round picks on its pitching staff (RHP Beau Hale and LHPs Garrett Olson and Eric DuBose) and a second-round pick (RHP Brian Finch)...also on Bowie's staff is RHP James Johnson, an Endicott native and 2001 grad of Union-Endicott High School. He's scheduled to start for Bowie Wednesday at NYSEG Stadium.

This ‘N That Dating back to 2004, the B-Mets have won nine of their last 13 at Prince George's Stadium, last losing a series here 8/4-6/2003...since starting 23-35, Binghamton's won 38 of their last 58, a streak that began with an eight-run eighth that led to a come-from-behind victory 6/7 @ REA, winning or splitting 13 of their 18 series during this stretch...the B-Mets have lost their last two series, vs. CON and @ TRE, the first time they've lost back-to-back series since 5/22-6/4, when they dropped four consecutive series (vs. POR, @ TRE, vs. REA, vs. HAR).
