Ron Davenport Sent To Single-A Dunedin

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


Manchester, NH- Outfielder Ron Davenport was transferred from the Fisher Cats roster to Class High-A Dunedin today. No replacement was made for Davenport on New Hampshire's roster. The Fisher Cats are currently two players short of the Eastern League limit of 24 active players.

The 24-year-old Davenport was hitting .181 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 41 games with New Hampshire this season. He began the year with the Fisher Cats and set a team record for consecutive hitless at bats as he began the year by going 0-for-32 before collecting his first hit of 2006. He was transferred to Dunedin on April 20 after beginning the year 0-for-27. In 39 games in the Florida State League he hit .337 with seven homers and 26 RBI before getting called back up to New Hampshire on June 6. He also missed three weeks in July after spraining his ankle during batting practice. He was originally selected by Toronto in the 22nd round of the 2000 draft.
