Sea Dogs win late again

The late inning heroics continue for the Sea Dogs, picking up their third straight win on Tuesday night, 6-3 over the Mets at NYSEG Stadium. During Portland's three-game winning streak, they've scored runs in the late innings to seal all three victories.

Former Binghamton Met David Bacani doubled in the go-ahead run during a three-run eighth inning for the Sea Dogs. Tyler Minges and Matt Van Der Bosch added RBI singles off losing pitcher Eddie Camacho (1-1).

Jon Searles (2-1) hurled two scoreless innings in relief of Kason Gabbard to earn his first victory since May 6 at New Britain. Mike Bumatay worked a scoreless ninth to earn his save in the Red Sox Organization.

Jeremy West and Zach Borowiak each had two hits for the Sea Dogs, pacing Portland's 8-hit attack. The 'Dogs took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Chad Spann's lead off home run off Miguel Pinango. In the fifth inning, West and Borowiak provided run-scoring doubles to extend Portland's lead to 3-0.

Kason Gabbard took his second no-decision in nine starts, surrendering five hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings. Binghamton scored two in the fifth inning but Gabbard got a double play with the bases loaded to end the threat. The Mets tied the game at three in the sixth on a fielder's choice by Jonathan Slack.

Minges threw out two runners on the bases from left field and leads the team with three outfield assists. He nabbed Corey Ragsdale trying to stretch a double and Michel Abreu rounding third base.

Notes...Portland leads the season series 4-2...In the last three eighth innings, Portland has sent at least eight men to the plate...David Murphy reached base in the eighth inning for the first time in the series.
