Curve Add Rojas to Rotation

The Altoona Curve today added RHP Chris Rojas to their active roster and the right-hander is expected to make his Curve debut as the starting pitcher for Wednesday's 10:35 AM game against the Bowie Baysox (AA/Orioles) at Blair County Ballpark. Rojas, 29, had been rehabbing an injury at Pirates' extended spring training in Bradenton, FL.
Rojas was signed by the Pirates as a minor league free agent in January after spending most of the 2005 season pitching for the Eastern League's Reading Phillies in the Philadelphia organization. The Glendale, NY native was an Eastern League mid-season All-Star with Reading last season and finished tied for second in the league in wins after going 12-6 with a 3.92 ERA in 22 starts.
Rojas began his professional career with the Pirates' organization in 1999, pitching for the short-season Class-A Williamsport Crosscutters before being released following that season.
