Baca Walks off Capitales to Give Champions 5-4 Victory in Final Game of 2019

September 3, 2019 - OTTAWA - Michael Baca hit a walkoff single to give the Ottawa Champions a 5-4 victory in their final game of the 2019 season against his former team, the Québec Capitales. Baca went 3-for-5 in the game with the lone RBI. Claimed off waivers from Québec on August 7, Baca was a spark plug for the Champions, hitting .348 with four doubles and 11 RBI since moving to the nation's capital. Aumont and Brown Take Home Can-Am League All-Star Honours

September 1, 2019 - OTTAWA - Ottawa Champions ace pitcher Phillippe Aumont has been named the 2019 Can-Am League Pitcher of the Year while outfielder Steve Brown was named to the Can-Am League end-of-season all-star team. The former Philadelphia Phillie led the league in strikeouts with a league-record 145 and broke the Can-Am League record for strikeouts in a game with 18 on July 16 against the Rockland Boulders. August 31, 2019 - OTTAWA - Steve Brown went 3-for-5 with two RBI but it wasn't enough as the Ottawa Champions lost Game 2 of their final homestand 9-4 to the Québec Capitales. August 30, 2019 - OTTAWA - Phillippe Aumont struck out nine and Adron Chambers hit a solo home run as the Ottawa Champions opened their final series of the season against the Québec Capitales with a 2-1 win. Nick DeTringo went 3-for-3 for his first professional three-hit game, extending his hit streak to four games in the process.
