Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that forward Daniel Zweep and Head Coach Greg Ireland have been suspended and will not be available to the Attack for their weekend set against the Kitchener Rangers.

Zweep has been suspended two games for his fight with Petes forward Derek Mathers :08 seconds into the first period of Thursday night's hockey game. It was deemed by OHL Officials that Zweep entered onto the ice surface for the sole purpose of engaging with the Petes forward in a pre meditated fight. Both Zweep and Mathers received five minute fighting majors on the play. The Petes forward received no further discipline today.

Greg Ireland has been suspended indefinitely by the Ontario Hockey League and will participate in a conference call on Monday, which will determine if his suspension will be carried out further. Ireland, who is in his first season with the Attack was deemed by the OHL to have sent Zweep onto the ice surface at the time of the altercation with Mathers.

Attack Associate Coach Terry Virtue will handle the duties behind the bench this weekend and will be assisted by Attack General Manager Dale DeGray.

The Attack is in Kitchener tonight (Friday) and will return home on Saturday to take on the Rangers. Tickets for Saturday's game are available at the Attack Box Office or by calling (519) 371-7452. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.attackhockey.com .
