
Spirit Lose Weekend Opener at Sarnia

On Friday night, the Spirit fell to the Sarnia Sting by the score of 7-2. Scoring for the Spirit were Brandon Saad and Vincent Trocheck. The Spirit return home on Saturday to take on the Niagara Ice Dogs at The Dow Event Center. The puck will drop at 7:11pm.
The Sarnia Sting jumped out to an early lead on Friday night, scoring two goals in the first period off the sticks of Charles Sarault and Reid Boucher. Sarnia would add another goal by Boucher in the second period for his second on the night. Charles Sarault would add his second and third goals early in the third period for the hat trick. Reid Boucher would net his hat trick at the 7:37 mark in the third period.
Saginaw Spirit forward Brandon Saad added a goal in his return to the Spirit from the Chicago Blackhawks. Also scoring from the Spirit was Vincent Trocheck with his fifth goal of the season.
