Z's lose on walkoff homer

Round Rock shortstop Danny Klassen drilled a three run walk off home run on Monday night to cap a four run inning to give the Express a 7-6 win over the Zephyrs. Ivan Maldonado entered the game in the ninth inning with a three run lead and proceeded to allow three hits and set the stage for the late heroics. Klassen hit the home run off of reliever Nate Field with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to salvage the split. Maldonado suffers his second blown save of the weekend against the Express. Fernando Tatis drove home a couple of runs for the Z's in the game hitting his fifth home run of the season. Z's starter Tony Armas pitched six solid innings striking out six batters and allowed five hits. The Zephyrs split the series in Round Rock and head home to begin a four game series with the Iowa Cubs.

Game Notes: The Zephyrs pitching staff started the day tops in the PCL with a 3.07 ERA. Chris Aguilia is fifth in the league in hitting batting .452 entering play on Monday. Argenis Reyes is second in the PCL with four stolen bases. Pitcher Duaner Sanchez on a rehab assignment with the Zephyrs will be activated by the Mets on Tuesday and New York will have to make a corresponding move.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs will host the Iowa Cubs in the first game of a four game series at Zephyr Field. The Z's will send RH Ruddy Lugo to the hill against RH Mike Burns at 7:00. Radio: WIST AM 690
