New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Eric Patterson drilled a two run home run and drove in four runs as the Sacramento Rivercats defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs 10-9 at Raley Field. The back and fourth game had five lead changes with the Cats scoring the go ahead run in the 7th inning.
The Zephyrs ripped three home runs in the game. Brett Carroll ripped a two run homer in the first. Jai Miller hammered a three run shot in the third. Lee Mitchell tied the game in the seventh with a solo shot. Gaby Sanchez added three hits and John Lindsey added two more RBI to his team lead.
Sacramento managed to score the game winning run in the seventh inning on a bases loaded botched double play that allowed Jeff Baisley to score and give the Cats the lead. Brett Sinkbeil suffered the loss and Jerry Blevins gets the win.
Game Notes: Z's added a pair of relief pitchers AJ Battista and Kyle Gunderson. New Orleans placed Willie Collazo and Willie Glen on the disabled list. The Zephyrs are now a season high 14 games back of first place Albuquerque. New Orleans is now The Z's are now 1-5 on the current California roadtrip.
Coming Up: Sacramento will host the Zephyrs at Raley Field in game three of the four game set. New Orleans will start RH Hayden Penn (0-4, 5.23) against LH Dana Eveland(8-3, 4.41) at 9:05 central time. RADIO: AM 690 WIST
