Game Keys - New Orleans Zephyr starting pitcher Tony Armas had worked ten consecutive quality starts coming into the game on Wednesday in Des Moines. Iowa scored a pair of runs in the first and added a pair in the fourth inning to snap the streak and defeat Armas and the Z's 5-3. Armas walked Ben Broussard and Jason Dubois hammered a two run home run to right to begin the scoring in the first. Z's outfielder John Rodriguez drilled a solo home run to left in the second inning to pull within a run. Iowa starter Kevin Hart left the game in the third inning when he took a Raul Casanova line drive off his head, he was taken to the hospital to be examined. Former Z Hector Carrasco entered and pitched four and one third innings and earned the win. Casey McGhee drove home two more runs in the fourth inning. Rodriguez added a two RBI single in the fifth inning but the Zephyrs would fall short. The series is even at one game each. Game Notes: Tony Armas leads the PCL in innings pitched and is second in ERA and strikeouts. Anderson Machado left the game in the fifth inning with a sore hamstring, he is day to day. Michel Abreu left Tuesday's game with a elbow contusion missed the game on Wednesday.
