
Zephyrs lose to Cubs 5-2

June 15, 2006 - The New Orleans Zephyrs lost to the visiting Iowa Cubs on Thursday by a score of 5-2.
Starting pitcher for the I-Cubs Rich Hill went six innings and gave up two runs on five hits, striking out six batters.
Reliever Andy Shipman (1-3) gets the win after giving up only one hit and striking out two batters.
Kerry Ligtenberg picked up the save for Iowa in relief after finishing the final inning allowing one hit. It was his sixth save of the season.
Offensively former LSU Tiger and I-Cubs left fielder Ryan Theriot went 2-3 with three RBI in the game.
For the Zephyrs, no batter had more than one hit, with right fielder Henry Mateo and catcher Wiki Gonzalez each driving in a run.
The loss gives the Zephyrs a 2-2 series split. New Orleans goes on the road and will take on the Round Rock Express on Friday in a 7:00 PM CT game. Starting for Round Rock will be Astros All-Star pitcher Roger Clemens, in a game televised by Cox Sports TV Ch. 37.
