Metairie, LA - The Zephyrs defeated the first-place Oklahoma RedHawks again on Friday, winning by a score of 8-6.
New Orleans got three RBI apiece from left fielder Tyrell Godwin and second baseman Brendan Harris to lead the home team. Godwin was only a home run away from hitting for the cycle in the game.
Starter Brian Powell (2-4) gets the win in 8.1 innings of play. Powell gave up six runs on six hits and struck out three batters for the Zephyrs.
Travis Hughes picked up his fifth save for New Orleans after pitching the final 2/3 of the game. He gave up a hit and struck out one batter.
R.A. Dickey (0-1) gets a loss in his first decision for Oklahoma. The starter gave up eight runs on 12 hits in six innings.
With the Zephyrs going up 2-0 in the series, the teams will play their third game on Saturday. It's a 6:05 PM CT start time.
