NASHVILLE, Tennessee - Nick Green smacked a solo home run and the Zephyrs pitching staff limited the Nashville Sounds to one run on five hits as the Zephyrs defeated Nashville 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Zephyrs offense picked up 11 hits in the game. The scoring started in the second inning when Matt Diaz doubled with one out. Wilson Valdez two out single scored the game's first run. Green homered to lead off the fourth inning to give the Z's a 2-0 lead. Diaz singled, Koyie Hill doubled and Diaz would score on a Mitch Talbot ground out to give the Z's a 3-0 lead.

Diaz and Hill each lead the Zephyrs with three hits on the day.

Z's starter Mitch Talbot pitched five innings allowing no runs on two hits. The Sounds offense was silenced by the Z's on the day until the ninth inning when Sean Halton doubled to lead off the inning. Halton would score with two outs in the ninth to break-up the shutout.

Talbot earned the win and Chris Hatcher picked up the save.The Zephyrs and Sounds split the series each winning a pair of games.

Game Notes - The Zephyrs lead the league turning 8 double-plays.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Memphis Redbirds meet in the first game of the four game series on Monday at 7:05. New Orleans will start RH Elih Villanueva against Memphis LH Tyler Lyons. RADIO: WMTI 106.1 FM "The Ticket".
