Salt Lake wins over Tucson
April 7, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Padres News Release
Roberto Lopez's single to right field and a throwing error from Sawyer Carroll on the same play brought home two runs in the eighth inning to help the Salt Lake Bees to a 5-3 win over the Tucson Padres Saturday at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
The Padres led 1-0 because of Jason Hagerty's bases loaded walk in the top of the second. Tucson extended its lead to three in the top of third when Daniel Robertson and Travis Buck scored on a force out and a Bees throwing error. Salt Lake responded with three runs on two hits in the bottom of the third to tie the score, 3-3.
Bees reliever David Carpenter earned his second win of the season by throwing a scoreless eighth inning. Dane De La Rosa shut down the Padres in the ninth for the save. Nick Vincent took the loss, yielding two hits, one walk and one earned run. Robbie Erlin started the game for Tucson and pitched 3.1 innings allowing six hits and three earned runs while walking three.
