OTTAWA - LHP Mike Zagurski was optioned to the Lynx today by the Philadelphia Phillies. RHP Bubba Nelson has been transferred to Double-A Reading.
Zagurski, 24, was 1-0 with a 4.58 ERA in 23 games with the Phillies this season. Zagurski began the 2007 season with Single-A Clearwater where he had no record, with a 1.10 ERA in ten games before moving to Double-A Reading where he posted a 1.29 ERA in in six games. He made his Major League debut May 25, 2007. This is his 3rd professional season.
Nelson, 25, went 3-7, with a 5.08 ERA in eleven appearances with the Lynx and he is 2-1 with a 1.76 ERA in 14 games with the R-Phils this season. Last year, Nelson spent the entire season with Double-A Mobile where he went 5-7 with a 3.80 ERA and had two saves. This is Nelson's 8th professional season.
