Youngstown Assigned two Blue Jackets Draft Picks

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown SteelHounds Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kaminski announced today that forwards Kevin Jarman and Petr Pohl have been assigned to the SteelHounds by the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Jarman, 22, is a first-year pro who comes to Youngstown after a four year collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The 6'0" 197-pound Aurora, ONT native played 35 games his senior season, finishing with nine goals, 14 assists and 39 penalty minuets. Jarman was originally selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft (4th Round, 103rd overall).

Pohl, a 5'11" 188-pound forward was also a Blue Jackets draft pick as he was selected in the 5th round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft (133rd overall). The Prostejov, Czech Rep native spent the majority of the 2006-07 season with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL. With Dayton he appeared in 65 games, recorded eight goals, 17 assists and 18 penalty minuets. Prior to the 2006-07 campaign Pohl spent three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he netted 77 goals in 195 games.

"Our affiliation with the Blue Jackets has paid-off again", said Kaminski. "We are very excited to get two high caliber forwards that allow us to immediately improve our roster. "

Both players will be in uniform for the Hounds season opener tonight in Oklahoma City. The Hounds are set to open their third season of CHL action against the Blazers at 8:35 PM EDT. The game will be broadcast live on WSOM-AM 600 and steelhounds.com.
