ESTERO, FL - Allen York earned his second shutout of the season stopping all 21 shots faced as the Florida Everblades defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 2-0 to extend their winning streak to five games.

After a scoreless first period, the Everblades (11-2-0-1, 23 pts) managed to score the game's first goal on a perfectly executed play on the power play at 9:35 of the second period.

Florida's Mike Little directed a pass from the blue line to Cameron Burt at the right wing circle. Burt immediately delivered the puck across the ice to Mitch Wahl at the left wing circle. Wahl capped off the quick passing play by wristing a shot behind Gwinnett goaltender Mark Guggenberger for the goal.

The 'Blades outshot the Gladiators 17-3 in the middle frame, and took the 1-0 advantage into the second break.

The Everblades and goaltender Allen York went into shutdown mode in the third period to keep the Gladiators scoreless. Florida received an empty-net insurance goal from Adam Brace in the game's final minute to secure the 2-0 shutout victory.

York recorded his second shutout of the season stopping all 21 shots faced, and extended his win streak to eight games. Guggenberger takes the loss despite a solid outing in goal allowing just one goal on 28 shots faced.

The Everblades will hit the road for a four-game road set which begins on Friday, November 28 at Wheeling. Game time is set for 7:35 p.m.
