Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY- The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (5-1) are on a roll; picking up their fifth win of the season last Saturday in Arkansas-improving the team to 3-0 on the road.
This week Oklahoma City faces a struggling South Georgia team. The Wildcats picked up their first win of the season last week against Memphis, but the Yard Dawgz don't expect it to be an easy game.
"Our team struggled last season in games we were heavily favored," said Head Coach Jeff Jarnigan, "I made some changes in our practice workout this week and believe it will pay off."
The Yard Dawgz are currently #2 in this week's af2 coaches' poll; and for the second week in a row a Yard Dawg received af2 honors. This week Chavis McCollister was named the U.S. Army Ironman of the Week. McCollister had 4 receptions for 27 yards and one touchdown on the offensive side of the ball. On defense McCollister collected two interceptions, one in which he returned for a score and one tackle in a 56-44 win over the Twisters.
Last week, quarterback Craig Strickland was named the Schutt Offensive Player of the Week, after a record setting performance against Tulsa.
The Yard Dawgz kickoff at 6:05 pm against the South Georgia Wildcats at the Ford Center. For further information contact the Yard Dawgz at 405.228.3294 or visit us at www.okcyarddawgz.com.
