Florence Y'alls News Release

FLORENCE, KY - The Lake Erie Crushers tied the series against the Florence Y'alls on Wednesday night with an 8-6 victory in a powerful battle between the two teams.

The batters were in full swing as Trevor Craport and Luis Pintor hit solo homeruns in the first inning.

Not long after, two errors on the Y'alls in the top of the third inning made a crucial impact on Wednesday night's game. The errors allowed two runs to tie the game and eventually kept the Crushers in a constant lead.

The former Florence Freedom member Isaac Benard made his presence known with a grand slam in the fourth inning that continued the power surge of both offenses.

Crushers starting pitcher Tyson Cronin received a win with two strikeouts and four earned runs in his five innings pitched. Sam Curtis came in relief for three innings to give up two runs.

Those runs were driven in by a Joe Lytle two-run homerun. This is Lytle's third home run of the season, an impressive stat given that he had yet to hit a home run in his multiple professional years prior to this season with the Y'alls.

Y'alls starter Edgar Martinez had a promising first two innings with four strikeouts. He ended up giving up five earned runs, seven runs in total. Alex Wagner, Sean Hughes, and Karl Craigie all came into relief with Wagner only allowing one more run from the Crushers.

The Crushers and Y'alls will return to Y'alls Ballpark as they head into game three of the series Thursday night at 6:34 PM ET. Y'alls Ballpark will be hosting Thirsty Thursday and be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Negro League. The first 1000 fans will receive a Satchel Paige bobblehead to commemorate this important day in baseball history.
