X's Wn Game Two Of Three Game Series Over Texas

Sioux City, IA- The Sioux City Explorers got the 6-4 victory over the Texas AirHogs Saturday Night, improving to 26-28 record on the season.

Texas recorded the first runs of the contest in the top of the first. Burt Reynolds homered with a runner on, giving them the quick 2-0 lead to start the game.

Sioux City answered with two runs in each of the third and fourth innings. X's shortstop Nate Samson knocked in two with an RBI double in the third. In the fourth, Matt Koch scored two with a base-hit single, allowing the Explorers to take the 4-2 lead.

The Explorers added two more runs on the contest, scoring a run in the fifth and sixth innings. Nate Samson recorded another RBI on the night, scoring the runner at third base with a sac-fly-RBI. The final run scored for Sioux City came off an RBI single by Derrick Robinson in the sixth innings.

The AirHogs managed to score a run in the sixth and eighth innings. Texas would go on to fall to the Explorers with a 6-4 score in nine innings at Mercy Field at Lewis and Clark Park.

Explorers left-hander James Walsh (1-2) received the victory for Sioux City, going five solid innings with only two runs allowed. X's closer Connor Overton (s-8) got the save, going 1-2-3 in the ninth inning to clinch the victory.

AirHogs right-hander Cody Hebner (2-6) was charged with the loss, giving up six runs in six innings pitched.
