Explorers Run Away with Series Finale

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The AirHogs dropped their series finale to the Explorers 15-1 Sunday at Lewis and Clark Park. The team returns to Grand Prairie to open a 6-game homestand starting Tuesday vs. Wichita.

The Explorers tagged AirHogs righty Tyler Harris for 10 runs and 9 hits over the 1st 2 innings. The team's 7-hit, 9-run attack in the 2nd was highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of Derrick Robinson.

Sioux City for a strong performance on the mound from righty Graham Johnson. The Los Angeles native scattered 5 hits and allowed only Brian Bistagne to cross on a sacrifice fly RBI by Cory Morales in the 5th.

David Wayne Russo, Roman Madrid, Carlos Misell, and Alan Oaks combined to hold the Explorers scoreless from the 3rd through the 7th. The X's got to Cody Culp for 5 runs in the 8th.

Harris suffered his 1st loss of the season, while Johnson, who twirled Sioux City's 1st complete game of 2016, picked up his 5th win. The AirHogs (20-36) return to Grand Prairie July 19th to begin a series vs.Wichita and will return to Amarillo for a series vs. Gary beginning July 28th. Tickets are available for both homestands.
