Fargo, ND - The Sioux City Explorers ended the taxing three game series in Fargo with the 4-1 extra-inning (12 innings) victory over the RedHawks. Exploreres won two out of three in Fargo to get the series victory.

In the top of the third, Sioux City recorded the first run of the contest. Jarek Cunningham read base on a hit-by-pitch, advanced to second on a base-on-balls by Tim Colwell, and scored off an RBI single by Ralph Henriquez.

Fargo-Moorhead tied the game in the fifth. Brian Humphries led-off with a single, moved to second on a base hit, and scored on a fielder's choice to tie the game at 1-1.

Pitching was stellar for both ball clubs, with neither team allowing another run to cross in nine innings of play, forcing extra-innings with the score tied at 1-1.

Explorers tacked on three big runs in the twelfth inning. One run was scored on an error by the right fielder. The second and third runs crossed home off a two-run single by Jarek Cunningham, giving the X's the 4-1 lead.

In the bottom of the twelfth, X's reliever Dylan Rheault (s-1) struck out the side to clinch the 4-1 victory over Fargo-Moorhead at Newman Outdoor Field.

Explorers left-hander James Walsh (0-1) finished with a no decision, going seven solid innings with only one run allowed while recording nine strikeouts. X's right-hander Rob Wort (2-2) received his second victory of the night (winning game one of the double-header), pitching 0.2 innings with a strikeout.

RedHawks starter Cody Scarpetta (1-0) had a solid outing on the mound but ended with a no decision, allowing only one run in 7.1 innings with eight strikeouts. Lefty Matt Snyder (0-2) was charged with the loss for Fargo-Moorhead, giving up three runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings pitched.
