
X's Win 3-2 In Twelve Innings Vs. Lincoln To Get Season Sweep

The Sioux City Explorers got the win 3-2 over the Lincoln Saltdogs in twelve innings to finish the season winning all thirteen games the X's and Saltdogs have played.
Explorers scored two runs in the third and fourth innings, off two solo-shots by Michael Lang and Ryan Court to take the quick 2-0 lead after four innings in Lincoln.
In the sixth, the Saltdogs plated their first. Aaron Payne led-off with a single, moved to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third off a CJ Ziegler base hit and scored on a groundout to first base cutting the lead 2-1.
Lincoln went on to tie it in the ninth sending it into extra innings. Brian Joynt worked up a lead-off walk and later scored from third off an RBI single by Eddie Young. After nine complete innings, Explorers 2, Lincoln 2.
After two scoreless extra innings the Explorers broke through with a run in the twelfth. X's second baseman Ryan Court started the inning at second base (ITB), advanced to third on a single and scored the final run of the game off an error by the first baseman giving them the 3-2 lead, which ended up being the final score of the game.
Explorers starter Ryan Strufing (0-2) got the no decision going six innings with a run scored and three strikeouts. X's left-hander Brandon Stennis (1-0) closed it out in the twelfth inning, going 1-2-3 to get the win. Stennis went three innings, allowing no runs, no hits and one walk.
Lincoln's starting pitcher Shairon Martis (6-2) finished with the no decision giving up two runs in eight innings pitched with seven strikeouts. Ryan Fennell (0-1) was charged with the loss for the Saltdogs, giving up the winning run in the twelfth inning.
