X's Fall To T-Bones 11-9

Kansas City-----The Kansas City T-Bones rallied for five runs in the eighth inning in defeating the Explorers here Thursday 11-9.

It was the second straight loss by the Explorers to the T-Bones. Sioux City had come back from a 4-0 deficit to score seven runs in the fifth inning to take a 9-4 lead. Ray Serrano iginited the come back with a three-run home run, his 10th of the year. After that the T-Bones scored two runs in the seventh on a two-run home run by Jim Fasano to cut the lead to 9-6. It was the bullpen that failed the Explorers Thursday as Eddy Delacruz gave up five runs and then Emiliano Fruto, the closer for the X's gave up a bases loaded triple to Keanon Simon, his only hit in the series and the Explorers went down to defeat for the second straight night.

Now the Explorers, who are seven games out of first place behind Gary, will open up a seven-game homestand Friday at Lewis and Clark Park. The Explorers will start the homestand with Wichita for three games and then Gary Southshore comes in for four games. Game time Friday will be 7:05.
