SIOUX CITY, IA - Your hometown Sioux City Explorers are in route to Lincoln, NE today for game one of a crucial three game series with the Lincoln Saltdogs in hopes of claiming a 2010 American Association Wild Card and securing a spot in the playoffs!

In the event the Sioux Falls Pheasants win the 2nd half pennant (Sioux Falls leads the Wichita Wingnuts by one game with three to play), the wild card and final playoff spot would go to the team with the 2nd best overall record and your hometown Sioux City Explorers hold a one game lead over both the Saltdogs and Wingnuts with only 3 games remaining on the 2010 regular season schedule.

In the event the X's can hold on and claim the final playoff spot, they would travel to Sioux Falls, SD for the first two games of the best of five Divisional series games on Tuesday, August 31st and Wednesay September 1st. Thursday September 2nd would be an off day and game 3 would be at Lewis & Clark Park with games four (if neccesary) and five (if neccessary) also in Sioux City.

In the event there is a tie at the end of the regular season, there would be a one game playoff in Sioux City (due to Sioux City holding a better winning percentage over both Lincoln and Wichita in head to head competition) on Monday, August 30th with game time set for 7:05 PM.

Make your plans now to travel down to Lincoln, NE to cheer on your hometown X's during these final 3 regular season games or tune into the voice of the Explorers, Dave Nitz on 1360 KSCJ to listen to all the action.
