
X-Games Gold Medalist coming to Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -2006 BMX Park Competition X- Games Gold Medalist and Jackson resident Scotty Cranmer will be in attendance on Monday August 14. Fans will have the opportunity to congratulate Scotty of his accomplishment as he will be on hand to throw out a first pitch and sign autographs for fans.
Scotty claimed X-Games Gold when he complied a score of 91.66, nearly two full points higher than the silver medalist. He successfully landed a double whip, twirling the bike around the handle bars, and then landed a 360 double whip. The run was so successful that is was apparent early on that Scotty was destined for the Gold.
"To have a local athlete like Scotty able to come out to the park to be recognized by his community is awesome." Lakewood BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown said. "We are happy that we have a venue where we can further celebrate the accomplishments of this talented athlete."
On Friday, August 11, 2006 the BlueClaws return to FirstEnergy Park to open a franchise record 12 game homestand against the Lexington Legends an affiliate of the Houston Astros. After the game there will be post game fireworks presented by Toyota World and Scion World of Lakewood. The BlueClaws are in first place in the Northern Division and are making a push to the post-season for the first time in franchise history.
