Wyrostok's Hometown Hat-Trick Lifts Broncos Over Tigers

Swift Current Broncos News Release
Medicine Hat, Alta. - It was a homecoming for Caleb Wyrostok in Medicine Hat on Friday night as his hat-trick helped the Broncos to a 3-1 win over their Central Division foes.
The Medicine Hat product scored once in the first, less than a minute into the second, and then right as the buzzer went in the third to get his first career three-goal night as the Broncos beat the Tigers for the third time in four tries this season.
Broncos Assistant Coach Regan Darby said it was great to see Wyrostok have the success he did.
"He had a lot of desire tonight," Darby said. "He was winning puck races, he was on pucks, relentless on tracks, just an overall great game for him and it was great to see."
Matthew Kieper stopped 29 of 30 shots he faced in the victory as the Broncos held the Tigers to one goal or less for just the second time this season.
Darby added that they wanted to improve on the road in the second half, and the last two games have been a good start in that quest.
"You've got to take care of those details," he said. "I felt like tonight we played a really good road game. We've had some trouble on the road, and in Lethbridge there it was a high scoring event, tonight we just kind of had to lock it down a little bit more."
The win was the first time the Broncos won back-to-back games on the road this season.
The Broncos are back in Swift Current on Saturday night when they host the Red Deer Rebels.
