
Blades Extend Point Streak, Drop Point to Wheat Kings in Shootout

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR: Goalie Austin Elliott did everything he could but the Saskatoon Blades dropped Friday's game in Brandon 3-2 in the shootout against the Wheat Kings.
The Strathmore, AB product was outstanding in defeat with 34 saves on 36 shots and stopped six of seven shootout attempts. Elliott rolls into 2024 with a 15-4-2-1 record, nine wins shy of 50 in his WHL career.
Forwards Brandon Lisowsky, Egor Sidorov, and Trevor Wong extended their point streaks to eight. Captain Wong scored a goal and an assist to give him 57 points (8G, 49A) in 35 games, the most on the club.
Saskatoon extends their point streak to 12 games, going 9-0-2-1 during that stretch. The Blades remain at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 24-8-2-1 record.
NEXT GAME: The Blades kick off the new year Monday, Jan. 1st at SaskTel Centre when the welcome the Wheat Kings for a rematch.
It's also former Blades Jayden Wiens' first game back in Saskatoon since being acquired by the Wheat Kings ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Puck drop for the Eastern Conference clash is 4:00pm.
