RALLY TIME: West Virginia rallied to beat Lakewood 4-3 on Thursday. The Power scored twice in the in top of the ninth against Josh Zeid on a David Rubinstein single to take a 4-3 lead. Duke Welker pitched a perfect bottom half of the inning to close out the game and preserve the Power win. Gabriel Alvarado worked three hitless innings in relief of Melkin Laureano to notch his first 2010 win.

ON THE SPOT TONIGHT: Jason Erickson will make his first start of the season tonight at Lakewood. The right-hander made eight starts in his 16 2009 appearances, going 1-2 with a 2.27 ERA while with State College. His longest outing of ‘09 was five innings at Hudson Valley on August 7. Erickson has gone four innings twice this season, allowing three hits and no runs on April 16 and surrendering no hits or runs on May 12. The 23-year old has earned a win in three straight appearances.

POWER VS ‘CLAWS HISTORY: The Power are 27-33 since 2005 against the BlueClaws, including a 4-8 mark in 2009 during West Virginia's first year of affiliation with Pittsburgh. The Power are 11-14 at FirstEnergy Park since 2005, and are 16-19 at home. During the ‘09 season, West Virginia went 1-3 during games played in New Jersey.

POWER K-MAN: Kyle McPherson set a new single-game high with ten strikeouts over five innings on Wednesday night against Delmarva. McPherson struck out three in the first, two in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth, and one in the fifth. The right-hander surpassing his own team-high of nine strikeouts in a game, set on May 7 against Kannapolis in a 2-0 West Virginia win.

STILL STROKIN': Rogelio Noris has hit a team-high six home runs this season, and four of those have come at Appalachian Power Park. Noris, who homered on last night, hit home runs in three straight home games from May 6 though 8 against Greensboro and Kannapolis, respectively, and in game one of a doubleheader Tuesday. Noris' only other home run was on April 25 in a 10-6 game one win at Kannapolis.

THREE STRAIGHT THEN STOPPED: Tuesday's game one win was the third consecutive victory by the Power and gave them their longest winning streak of the season. The streak was snapped three hours later when the second game of the doubleheader concluded. The Power had lost their five previous attempts to win a third consecutive game by finals of 3-2, 6-3, 5-0, 9-3, and 4-0 final scores.

POWER POINTS: West Virginia is 14-0 when scoring five or more runs in a game this year and 4-21 when scoring four or less, including Wednesday walk-off 3-2 win over Delmarva... Power pitchers have walked 99 batters this season, the fewest surrendered in the SAL this season... West Virginia's win last night was its first on a Thursday this season. The Power are now 1-6 in games played on the fourth day of the week.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost at PNC Park by a 4-3 margin against Milwaukee... Indianapolis' game with Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre was suspended in the fourth inning and will be resumed today prior to the regularly scheduled contest... Altoona beat Akron 2-1... Bradenton doubled up Clearwater 6-3. Jeremy Farrell had four hits for the Marauders.
